CERCLA
The United States Congress enacted the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act (CERCLA), commonly known as Superfund, in 1980. Today, Superfund remains a significant financial exposure to corporations that may have contributed to the disposal of these materials in the past.
At the local level, state agencies regulate environmental concerns that are not addressed under the umbrella of the Federal RCRA and CERCLA programs. It is critical for a consultant to possess a thorough understanding of the local regulatory arena and the clients’ goals in order to create costeffective solutions and avoid potential pitfalls associated with locally enforced environmental regulations.
Our professionals have both the knowledge and understanding to effectively guide clients through this regulatory process. We create cost-effective solutions for site investigation strategies and remedial approaches that meet the requirements of the appropriate regulatory agency.
RCRA
Developing sound solutions to potential environmental issues raised under RCRA are critical in order minimize the costs and liability a company may face. This is especially true of recent developments in Congress and the EPA that will require a thorough understanding of not only Federal regulations but also how local regulatory agencies plan to implement these regulations. This requires a firm that understands these issues and can develop appropriate strategies that result in clear communication with regulatory agencies, appropriate data collection activities and development of effective remedial alternatives.
